Parents, students, and adult learners, i welcome you to explore your dreams of playing the violin or revisiting your instrument after taking a break from it. Playing your instrument will be a way to continue your musical journey. If you are thinking about playing an instrument or are new, consider this time to begin a new musical endeavor. In person or online lessons are a great way to collaborate with your teacher and see improvement at all levels. Lauren Murphy
Owner, director, instructor
Lauren Murphy is an accomplished violinist, violist, and pianist with a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston. Lauren is devoted to providing you the best environment for learning with success. Her experience in professional orchestra performance, registered Suzuki teacher training, and extensive teaching experience will provide you with the proper technique required to be able to perform with ease and joy.

Lauren Murphy was awarded a 2017 individual artist grant from the Hillsborough Arts Council. This award is in recognition of her individual artistry in the Tampa bay area.
Our Mission
Our mission at Tampa Suzuki Strings is to provide the proper environment for all of our students to learn. We will educate and encourage our family members of all ages so we will become a community of musical learners. As our musicians acquire skills needed to perform on their instrument, our desire is that they will capture the energy and loving spirit of Dr. Suzuki.
Suzuki Violin and viola
Suzuki group classes allow students to learn, grow, have fun playing violin and viola in a social setting. Learn a new technique, get better at sight reading, try a new skill, and play with other violin, viola players with common interests. No pressure, no stress!
Our responsibility at Tampa Suzuki Strings is to provide the proper learning environment so all of our students can learn. Students who are properly trained will be able to develop musical ability with unlimited potential.
Ensemble skills and continued note reading are taught along with solo repertoire. We would like our students to have skills needed to participate in youth orchestra groups and school orchestras and our adults to have skills needed to participate in string ensembles and duets.

Lauren Murphy is your instructor at Tampa Suzuki Strings. She has participated in numerous music festivals and performed as a member of The Florida Orchestra for 18 years. Lauren has contributed to music education in the Tampa Bay area, teaching at music festivals, elementary and upper level schools, and summer festivals. Lauren’s students recently have won first prize at: Justine LeBaron Concerto Competition, TMYO youth orchestra Concerto Competition, MTNA Florida Strings competition, and Blake HS Concerto Competition. Lauren frequently hosts Suzuki play-in events for area Suzuki teachers and students. In addition to her violin performance degree from NEC, she received registered Suzuki teacher training from Ithaca College, University of Miami, ASI at Steven's Point.
Recitals and performance opportunities are offered to all students ongoing throughout the year.
We are here for you! Lauren will provide your live music for an event of any type. It may be a wedding, a birthday party, or a unique event. You may want a solo violinist or a larger ensemble, let us know.
